    Happy New Year, Friends !

We've been away in the 1850's - no internet you see.

    1855 Portrait

Oh, how my husband indulges my whims ( this photo has been a dream of mine since I was like 10yrs old )

I hope your 2009 is more delightful than the current government is spruiking, and that no-one stakes a claim to your gold mine.

    Merry Merry

    xx

I remember that, but I think more of the cornish pasties, the printed up posters "Wanted Dead or Alive" and the sweet shop. I haven't thought about going for years, maybe we should put that on the list to take the girls - thanks for inspiring me!

PP: the 'look' I was going for was that of 'humourless disciplinarian' you see on so many of the women of this era.

However, the camera-lady kept asking me to smile 'just a bit' .. and I had no idea AB was beaming like a loon down in the front row. So i'm sort of in-betweeny :/

Everyone - it was fun, and I never wanted to take off my dress, and the boys were all so cute - go do it if you get the chance :)

Mimosa - we got the posters for the boys, and a vial of panned gold, and some boiled lollies too. Yum, cornish pasties..

Your face is more historically correct, AB's big smile (while gorgeous) would more likely have been a very serious stare down the barrel of the lens!

Happy New Year, how lovely that you've always wanted that shot and now you have it!

Ooh, we are off to Sovereign Hill in a fortnight. Must do it. My sister's family did one a couple of weeks ago at the Swan Hill Pioneer Settlement, or as my nephew called it "the pie and beer settlement". Happy New Year!

back in the olden days, when I lived in Ballarrat as a bebe journalist, I must have visited Sovereign Hill two or three times a week, once to see a koala up a poppet head! Never had the olden time photo taken though.

Just when I thought it was impossible for your family to be any cuter. OMG! what a riot. My favorite part is Master's face. Just love.
