All Done !

Thank God for that !
AB and I have been working like dogs - plastering, sanding, painting, picking up a knick-knack or two to strategically place around the place. 35 degrees today too - phew!

But we're done, and dinner is being ordered in tonight. Hoorah.

Filling Holes

Dear Diary,

I have discovered the great love of my life. I like to fill holes.
Be it grout or a sealant gun, I enjoy the satisfaction of a hole well filled.

They say people that live simple lives live longer and are generally happier in life.
I must be positively beaming.
Perhaps i'll look back at this moment fondly at my 205th Birthday.
Perhaps i'll get an engraved glue gun as a gift. Bonus.

Another Big Day

C's new bed arrived last night. Today I went out for bedlinen and picked up some other "selling tools" from a cool Homewares place I found . Washed, ironed and bed made. Looks good. I already had some cushions in red,white & blue, so added them to the theme, as a kind of a 'day-bed' feel. That lamp was bought and used by Daddy for his HSC, cool ;)

St Val's Day, but we're not into that so much. C. has a bit of a headcold and is miserable, so by the time we got him off to sleep, and AB had done some touch-up painting out the front and fertilised the lawn etc, it was 9.30pm. Cheers !

After dinner until just now, I resealed some windowpanes, while AB sanded back some plaster fill.

I love it when a plan comes together...

Freedom

This morning C. and I walked to the paint shop and got all the fixin's for the house - touch up paint to go over the filled plaster cracks in the lounge, a new coat of paint for the foot-worn front porch and steps..

C. was desperate for a drive in the car when we got home ( his new obsession, although of course, he prefers the driver's seat ), so we bundled off to Freedom. I had to replace the table runner *someone* ( not me ) drew on with thick permanent marker, and was looking for replacement lampshades for our bedroom.

We got these lovely 'heart shaped' lamps as a wedding gift 10yrs ago, but the shades were looking a little worse for wear. Mine looked to have a coffee stain on it ( huh ? ), so I got these ones pictured. They are in an olive-y colour which matches the rest of my bedroom decor, and weren't too exxy, so yay us !

AB tells me C's new bed arrives tonight, so i'm busy packing up the study, clearing out & making room.

On R/E.com.au this morning, I noticed a house around the corner up for auction. Not as pretty a frontage as ours, but the same house effectively in terms of size, configuration, style etc. They ALSO have a bit of a backyard, AND they're advertising in the same price range we will be ...
