    Flashback Friday

I was going to talk about other stuff today, like how we successfully got the new oven cancelled ( surprisingly easy, since the paperwork said "we own your arse now" and when I looked up Consumer Affairs, so I knew my rights, it said "they own your arse" )

But Clive Peeters were great - full refund. Fab ! The old oven is still dodgy, but i've since got it working again .... and if i'm getting a new oven, I kinda want a new kitchen, and where I want my new kitchen involves smashing down some walls and kicking my son out of his room. So no.

But due to my recent delivings into the past ( I assume ? ), I was invited to participate in a new flickr/blog doovy-thing-what.

So without no particular reason for the year or subject, I bring you: August, 1975

I'm 5yrs old here and with my beloved cat, Smokey.

I think my mum made the funky loungeroom curtains.
If they were an artwork, i'd call them 'Dissected Onion in Green'.

So I think i'll do this each Friday for a little while until I get bored or run out of photos.

    Whichever comes first :)

Not only has your Mum made sure your skirt clashes nicely with the fabulous curtains but she's even managed to co-ordinate a cat with the same colour hair!!! What a great photo. Welcome to FB Friday!

Flashback Friday indeed!! Gotta love the 70's don't you?

I think we had those curtains in lime green - or was that the wallpaper? Mary

Yes the skirt, curtains combo is great in a very 70s kind of way.

Very cute, but not sufficient motivation for me to bring out my 70s photos. Actually, my 70s photos are probably ok, bad patterns but I'm still cute enough. It's the 80s photos you couldn't get out of me in a pink fit.

I look forward to seeing more each Friday. Glad the refund/return thing worked out.

Wow, I LOVE these curtains (what I wouldn't do for some of that fabric now!?!). Your skirt is very cute too :)
Hooray for Flashback Friday... I am loving these, the fun photos, the embarrassing photos, the sweet photos, the lot! I will make sure I pop in again next week.

uli - anything pre-1985 is fine. You can hang out in the 70's - I think I will be ..

crafty - that was one of those 'children's pets', the ones that cop it sweet and let you dress them up and accept all sorts of punishment.

The cat I have now hates kids and runs away when it sees anyone under 4ft coming towards him.

You look like you're wearing one of those kilt dresses where the top was plain white lines/cotton ina singlet cut and the tartan started at the waist. Am I right? We had dresses like that in the 70s.

Those curtins look frighteningly like the wallpaper we had in our first house (I feel I must stress it was there when we moved in and did not last long).
You have a very wise cat, neither of ours can be found while there is a child in the house.

Gee ditto wallpaper/curtains, but in brown and orange. It's a great photo. My folks also had fab lamp base that looked as if a volcano had vomited all over it. I must also confess that our cat hates us all except at dinner time and can sometimes be discovered on the head of my sleeping son.

OOOOooh. We had those kilt dresses that Stomper mentioned. I have recently seen some fabric that was similar in design to those curtains.
I love the chubby cheeks on young children. Yours look very rosy in this photo.

    Or composted onion, maybe.

Of course, it would be worth a BLACK FORTUNE on Ebay, these days.

God, this curtain is very similar to the stuff I cut up and make kids clothes out of! Very tolerant cat, my cat has the same phobia as yours and charges in and out of her cat flap all day.

Wow! Look at those curtains! Scarey!! LOL :)

Those curtains remind me of the ones from the first flat I moved into. They were orange and brown squares. They looked like something you'd find in a country RSL club from the 70's.

Glad you got out of the stove drama/debt. OMG those curtains bring back so many memories of decor crimes!
I think you look very cute. My daughter had some of those fake kilt skirts!
And, whatever happened to cats? They used to be so placid, & kid friendly!

We had a kitty called Smokey in the 70's too!

Great pic of you and your patient cat... Ditto on the curtains... gotta love the 70's!

Oh - love the flashback Friday!

We had a cat called smokey too! All the co-incidences are getting a little freaky. Though I don't think we had curtains like those but some other "choice" ones which were made to look like hanging macrame (with smaller holes!)
