    There's a Bear in There

And i'm not just talking about the PlaySchool Concert we were invited to yesterday.

By a very well-behaved little boy and his mama. For my part, I took along my newly emerged wildebeest ( I was expecting a butterfly ? )

I had a great time. Alex Papps was there ( I missed those early "Home & Away" years, living in a country town with only 2 channels to choose from, one being the ABC ).

Anyway, i'd let him buy me dinner.

And the legendary Benita. Looking a bit Kath Day-Knight in her high pants and flowing overshirt, but considering she must be like, 105yrs old .. respect.

We knew the songs, but refused to join in ( this also happens at Playgroup and at the Kid's Session at our local library. I keep dragging him along despite this .... )

    This smile ?
Looks like he's having a good time, right ? Must have been gas ... or he was gleeful as he'd just successfully kicked me and made contact.

    Beastie.

We also left Playgroup for the first time early this week.
I'd gotten there first to set up, and got all the equipment out by myself ( thus dirtying not-well-chosen white jeans in the process ).

Then it rained, so I hauled all the now wet equipment inside ( again, alone - hello, some help here ?!?!? ).
Then my son threw a dying-blowfly routine when something didn't go his way.

So we left. The mood I was in .. never to return again ... but i'd already paid my fees ...

    Welcome to "3".
Apparently it's the new "2", which was relatively pain-free....

How deceptively Angelic he looks in that photo! All the ages have their 'moments'. It is just surviving them that takes so much effort!

with DS, three has been much worse than 2's...and is so looking forward to four.

He does look so precious though!!

Ah, that good old shot of testosterone has kicked (literally!) in. Not that you asked my advice but I'd say lots of time outside to burn up all that energy (which you already do) and don't feel guilty about not going to playgroup, if it's too fraught.

yes! 3 is totally the new 2!
I was lamenting my torture-free 2s with another playgroup mum and she said she can see the light at the end of the tunnel with her almost 4 yr old.

    ROFLMAO at the Benita stuff.

Both my kids were adorable 2-year-olds: terrible twos NEVER happened for us. Ah, but 3 ... Three has always been much MUCH harder work. But I only have children of the male persuasion and as Lazy states, the sudden arrival of testosterone at three has a LOT to answer for.

Never mind, you've only got like a whole year of this to look forward to. And 4&5 are quite lovely...

PS. And the photo of him makes a liar of you, by the way. He looks perfectly sweet in it.

Your a classic H&B. You are right about the respect and all - but really those pants - she probably came and snuck them out from the back corner of my wardrobe - they're really not coming back in are they?

And the white pants to playgroup - been there done that - and again - and again. My recall's not happening at the moment!

    And Stomper's right - he's a little angel!

AAH!!! Those bloody 3s are killing me! The beastie is making its presence well known in our household. The 2s were relatively painless.

I feel for you. I feel for you even more because that angel face? Is exactly the expression on my son's face just after he kung-fu kicks me.

And what's with those lazy sod other mothers not helping out at playgroup?!

Ah yes, the troublesome threes. I remember those. Hang in there the fours are pretty cool :)

Perhaps he's getting hid difficult teenage years out of the way early.

I'm immersed in the same. Nice huh? He didn't give a hint in that gorgeous face.

Oh Playgroup... don't even talk to me about it. There, as far as I can tell, two types of people who attend playgroup: Those who do stuff (us!), and those who sit around watching the others do stuff. Grrrrrrr.

Oy. Threes. With our lads 18 months apart, we were in the threes for a good, long stretch without much respite.

It was very Biblical: "Damnation without relief."

I always thought 3 was meant to be the magic number. Not the case at all. Age 4 is the go! No more tantys.

The photo of your son is gold - such joy.

Wow, you saw the godess Benita in person. PLaygroup is a constant source of embarassment for me because my youngest son won't share with anyone, takes all the toys off the babies and deliberately slams into kids, and I'm supposed to be one of the organisers.. But I promise once you get a four year old you get a proper little human.

Neither of my children were public singers - they knew all the words and action when they got home, but it wasn't for public consumption. It looks like he enjoyed himself without having to sing!

Ido not believe that your angel is anything other than angelic....
    I need proof woman!!!

I'm a little freaked out that we may have actually been in the same concert!!! We were at the 230pm session. That first pic almost looks like the back of my Bretty's head, although I'm not sure if it's grey enough. So cool.

I too lived in the country and missed Home and Away growing up. But I do remember Alex in the Henderson Kids as Vinnie. I always confused him in my mind with the guy who played Chachi and Charles in Charge.
