Electricians arrived today.
All sorts of little anecdotes on how I could have killed myself ....
( but not a "Yassou!" all day .. and they vacc'ied afterwards .. )
Birthday invites.
Everything i've seen pre-made is naff. It's not a Pirate-party, it's not a Wiggles-Party, not a Pooh-party, not a Nemo-Party.
It's a party.
For a 3-yr-old.
So i'm playing around. I like the bunting motif, as it's new ( to us ).
I originally wanted the boy and I to do some 'art' cards together.
Then i'd cut it, fold it, send it.
But I think my 'manic' period is on the wane.
My husband's been working 24/7 .. I tend to 'do stuff' when he's away.
He'll be spending time with us soon, so all my little projects on the "H&B" blackboard will take a backfooting.
I'm hoping I get my act together before the par-tay.
I'll be baking my first birthday cake.

Great card idea!! I like a lot. And you've been busily blogging away, haven't you? Unlike myself...
sparky's that vacuum - where did you find those gems???
Bunting very cute
The bunting idea's gonna be a hit design.
Good luck with the cake..
Good bunting cards! I believe it is going to be very trendy to do the un-themed birthday party very soon. What! No fairies or pirates! No, just a plain, good old fashioned birthday party! What a brilliant idea! Where did you come up with that one? Pure genius.
I always make my own invites too.
I like the bunting very much.
So are you officially rewired now? Cos I thought something that was costing you so much would take MUCH longer...
Careful now h&b...first muffins, now a birthday cake? Who knows where all this baking is going to lead you? :)
The bunting idea is great!
cool card! I'd rather make my own cards too - I'm in the middle of designing the "welcome to the world baby" cards to send out. I really ought to get on with it.
PS Loved the clip of you on Deal No Deal. I'm glad that they won some money.
First birthday cake - can I give you a tip a mucho experienced mum gave me? Well, two words - icecream cake. Very easy. Very delicious.
Just buy premium vanilla iceream. Defrost until you can add and stir in small/chopped up lollies etc of choice. Place in dish and put in freezer a couple of hours. Before completely hard - decorate top with more lollies or other decorations of choice. Then freeze till hard.
At the last party I did this - all eyes wide in amazement - all tummies full - no cake left. Took all of 10 minutes to do :-)
But if you like baking - go for I say.
Wow Nutmeg - I hope you would serve all that tasty sugar just before the parents arrive to pick up their young ones for the ride home - buzzzzzz.
Love the card. You're a mighty creative mum. I know you've mentioned "bunting" before, but what the heck is it? Did I live a sheltered life?
Stomper - still going. Will be done by Monday, I think ... and Joanne - yeah, this father/son team rock - will be recommending..
Nutmeg - icecream cake is probably still a bit cold for April .. maybe when they're a bit older and the globe has warmed some more ( ha ! ).. but thanks :)
Muz - it's just a line of flags. You also see it at sporting carnivals. I *think* if I googled it, you'd find it comes from a nautical background - you know, regattas and the like ?
But yeah - it's just kind of festive and fun ! :) The boy calls it "party ! party!" anyway, so it seems a logical theme ...
Neat card idea! Go with the it.
The cake...Icecream never seems too coool for kids, but if you want to bake, good luck.
BTW I guessing Eden?
Love, love the card. Must see photo of your cake. I know it will be amazing. (no pressure) Looking forward to pics of course. : )
