    Couldn't-Be-Bothered-Dot-Com

    I am by nature, antisocial.

I am happiest pottering about the home, and when I go out, it's normally to get something for the home. A day spent out & about, seeing people, being busy almost neccessitates a full day at home to recover and compensate.
    Ying/Yang.

Obviously, I can tow the line .. but when I was working, I really liked to do NOTHING on the weekends: see nobody, do nothing. Just bliss out at home, perhaps unwashed, definately unironed. My ripped 'gardening pants' get more wear than any other item I own.

I hate the phone and rarely use it. I like email as it is quiet and composed. I can reply to an email at leisure, in my own time. I don't know anybody who uses a phone less than I.

Before child, I also kept a quiet house. I love silence - no TV, no music, no noise. This is not to say I don't like music - I *love* music .... but at home, I love the sounds of silence, the smell of grass and the drone of a bee, the feel of the sun. Now it feels like Dora is on 24/7, but that's ok .. I can't hear it outside anyway :)

Anyway, maybe it's because mum is here, or perhaps it is the nearing of the social Xmas season .. but I am feeling very unmotivated at the moment to change out of those gardening clothes and get out there. Not for friends, not for bread, not for milk. Nothing.

It's just too nice at home ..

Ah yes, but Christmas is coming and even for try-hard homebodies like me, that means you start to suddenly realise there are an alarming number of notes on the calendar.

The obligatory gatherings? that's my biggest Xmas hate.

I'm thinking of starting up a new trend of eloping to Qld for Xmas .. seriously ...

I really think it is this time of the year that just bogs me down in 'obligatory' crap, and makes me want to shut myself away in a dark dark cave.

Anyway, we got out to the Park today, and there's another Petting Zoo day tomorrow at Playgroup, so I suppose i'm still blipping on that 'social' radar ;)

Well I guess that makes me antisocial too. I actually don't answer the phone if I don't feel like it and frquently take it off the hook. Never have the TV / radio/ or muscic playing "just for company" only if I really want to see/hear that particular show.

    I'm another phone-hating anti-social.
A day out definitely requires a day in to recharge.

As for boycotting Christmas - that's an evil plan of mine that will be long in the making but very much enjoyed.

hate telephones (worked in a call centre for too long) and rarely use it.
the tv is switched off most nights, and for most of the day now.
radio and music rarely on too.
if the FB had a mute button it would be pressed.

avoid Christmas - move to a city where you know no one and get pets so you can't possibly go home to see the family. has worked for 6 years so far.

fortunately the FB is a far sunnier outgoing person than me!

Well, if you're antisocial, then at least you're pleasantly antisocial. There should be a word for that!

Only complete lack of food drove me from the house today, with small child who had tantrum on floor of butcher's shop and refused to leave until strange lady spoke to him. Must look into home delivery.

I adore being at home, bare feet (not pregnant) and dressed in my cargo's and loose T....just taking in the sounds of the house, the garden and the best sounds of all - my little man's mutterings, constant "why?" questions and his constant need for food as he is "starving mummy". I've only reached this feeling of being at home bliss after returning to work. I like my job and the purpose it serves, but I loooove my home. I talk on the phone at work all day and let it go to message bank at home. Doing 'nothing' on the weekends used to be boring. Now I crave that bored feeling.
With all the Christmas things to do, we made a decision to free up one day a weekend to just all be together at home and hopefully all be 'bored' out of our brains.

I'm the opposite most of the time - I love to be out and about, or if I'm home then I'm talking on the phone (I love it when the phone rings - who could it be?!) Actually, I'm probably one of those annoying people who MAKES the phone calls that you'd like to ignore :)

I am so much like you. "But we were out allll day yesterday, so today I must, simply MUST blob!"

Oh, someone else like me! I hate socialising, I'm so crap at it. I'd rather just meet and talk to one person at a time.

On weekends, I used to lie in, read a lot, clean and wash my clothes, see friends.

Now I work about half the weekend, and do things with my partner and son. And if wider family stuff gets in the way more often than once a month, I get very cross!

The yellow color is very pretty. It looks nice at your old place, and would probably go well with the color at the new. Let us know what you decide!

I am a phone freak. I talk TOO much. :)

I'm a bit of a hermit. I love my home. i love my bed. And I love quiet. And I like it very, very dark when I sleep. Oh, and I love cold, fresh air. :)

I too enjoy peace & quiet and my own company. My worst night is New Years Eve and I'm an adamant homebody on that night. Why does everyone need to go out and have a great time on that same day? Its just noisy and crowded and bad.
Just realised I've missed your 2 recent posts, stupid old bloglines.

I love being at home too and I am not really into Christmas....but now with kids I try to make it special for them in non materialistic ways.

Yeah you're right, it gets ridiculous from now to Christmas, especially the nightime stuff who can handle going out at night all the time when you have kids, I feel like nights are the time to do your own thing, but then there's all these Christmas parties and events, eek.

You certainly don't act antisocial when you're out :-) I feel like screaming that every weekend in December is already booked by stuff that is meant to be 'fun'. I guess the weekdays will just have to be quiet to make up for it.
And I read your comment at Another Nutter - definitely an evening meeting next time without kids - or did you see that Suse was tentatively suggesting a big group meeting at the Bot Gardens one day?

Me too. I love silence at home.
