    4 Months in the House

    In that time we have:

    - Cut down like 20 (?) trees
    - Filled 3x huge skips with junk left laying around the property
    - Poisoned a lot of ivy
    - Removed a 'compost' heap in the corner of the yard ( not very composty, more a dirty heap of yuk )
    - Replaced 2x fencelines
    - Replaced a hot water service
    - Bought our first lawnmower
    - Painted some 80's apricot concrete sidesteps
    - Ripped out a broken heater and replaced it with a gas 'fireplace'
    - Broke a water pipe
    - Started to build a deck out the back ( today )

And tonight we buried a friend.
My first funeral actually. I'm pretty proud of myself for keeping it together.
    Maybe i'm growing up.

I hope I can hold it together as well as you when it's our Bess, or Harry, or the very short-sightedly named Tiny.

I am glad you decided to bring Hamlyn home. He'll be happy to be around you whilst you are "tinkering" in your new garden and will enjoy watching it grow just as much as you. He'll keep up his end of the bargain and whatever you plant to commemorate him will flourish. It will be his contribution to the garden.

    RIP Hamlyn.

I have never managed to 'hold it together' at a funeral- I guess I am too old to change.
This, in spite of claiming to be a 'fatalist'. My son delights in pointing out the irony of this.

Little Hamlyn will rest in peace in such a lovely setting. His presence will add to the magic of your garden as you create it and it grows.

So nice that you gave Hamlyn a loving farewell.

Your progress on the renovation is astonishing, good god woman, do you never rest? You're making the rest of us look bad.

    Beautiful casket you have there.

Don't ever grow up and never be ashamed to cry.
