Sadly, I can't remember the last mag I bought... but I made up for it today !!
I wanted the new Donna Hay Kiddies issue, plus some garden & bathroom design mags, and threw a trashy Australian "OK!" in for good measure.
After stocking up on mags, we went up to Priceline as we were all out of shampoo and other assorted essentials. So I get up to the counter to pay, and I notice there's a "Spend $50 and get a $10 voucher !" offer on. I am under the $50, but I could easily pick up some baby wipes or a pack of nappies ? .... no worries, says the checkout chick, ( luckily, the girl I totally complimented on her short n funky hairstyle last time I was in, like a month ago ), i'll give you a voucher anyway, I know you shop here...
Yay, bonus !

Great customer service from Priceline? There's a first for everything! (Which probably sounds nastier than I intended...I just have a Priceline that is staffed by sulky 15-year-olds who just do not want to be there).
But those mags? I am SO jealous!
How could you go past 'OK'?? especially with my hero, Britney, on the cover. Im such a happier person knowing her and Kev are still together.

I know what you mean about indulging in magazines. Once upon a time (before a child) I was a bit of a magazine junkie. Now it is rather odd of me to purchase one. I don't go past a copy of Super Food Ideas though....gotta love that! I'll be back!
I'm always touched by how little niceties of interpersonal relationships with strangers can return such huge dividends.
This entry and your exchange with the cashier highlights just how much nicer the world would be if more people were like you.
Definitely something for me to keep in mind as I head out for a morning adventure with my little folks.

Mrs K-Fed was the main reason for the "OK!" purchase, I have to admit.. ;)
Note to others: I bought the Donna Hay one without flicking through - I probably wouldn't have bought it if i'd chanced a quick read first .. oh well ..
