    Crafty

Well, not really, although this is one of two posts on the subject of 'craft'.
The 2nd ( yet to come ) being on the Dangerbaby Cape I made the youngest for a recent Superhero Party.

But I have had a lot of people ask about the 'Knitting Nancy I use for Grown-Ups'.

The best thing about reading about something crafty on my blog, is that you know it's piss-easy.
I don't waste my time with tricky bits, or complicated tutorials.
I just do stuff, and if it works for me, i'm interested. If it's all a bit too hard - then, pfft - see you later.

You can buy the looms from Spotlight, in the wool section. There's 4 in a bag, of varying sizes, and they cost about $15. You can use them to make caps, scarves, snoods, socks, baby cocoons, anything probably, if you really wanted to get into it, I guess ?

    LoomHat

This is a cap I made MC last year. His brother has a matching one.

Basically, just the same as your Knitting nancy on a bigger scale: you just winda-winda-winda the wool around around the pegs, and then pluck over the loops with a crochet hook. Too easy.

Unfortunately, my project ATM is using one of those fuzzy funky 'designer wools' ( what do you call a ball of wool that is actually all synthetic anyway ? ), so it's a bit hard to see the stitch/pattern, it's just all fuzz:

    looming 1

I took these in the car today - parked in the drive. Got through 2 balls of 'wool' while the Dangerbaby slept in the back.
The whole time I was 'knitting', I was thinking of Hannibal Lecter.
Because i'm a bit funny like that. Probably.

So yeah, if you're interested, get thee to Spotlight, and if you have any problems because like, I provided absolutely no guidance here, just do a search on YouTube for 'knitting loom tutorial' - there's like a 1000 to choose from ( it's how I learned to do a flat scarf panel as opposed to doing everything in the round )

    and have fun!

That's the most bizarre thing I've seen this morning.

(The Knitting Nancy thing, not your son!!!)

I'm ditching the needles that I've been giving a crack and getting to Spotty post haste. This looks far more promising. Love the hat.

(I think you'll find that fuzzy 100% acrylic wool is called flammable)

Love it!! That's my kind of knitting - except straight up and down stuff to make a scarf.
Were you and snacking on someones liver with some fava beans a nice chianti while in the car??

I have seen those in Spotty and wondered what they did and since I have NO knitting skills at all I think I will definately give it a go.

I made miles and miles of tubes of wool when I was young. Didn't do a thing with them. Wish I'd had a big one then to make hats. I would thought I was so fancy in a hat like that.

You should open a shop, love.

Cool. I *heat* knitting nancy when I was growing up. One of these things is right up my alley.
