Well... obviously some thinking had to be done as this is the saddest pre-concert portrait I have *ever* seen ... I have no idea .. i said 'smile', and this is what I got.
It looks like he's protesting for Amnesty International.
Anyway, despite this, he was in the mosh pit all concert, and had been counting down the days ( you and me both kid, I hope somebody else doesn't blog about the obnoxious mother who likes to belt 'em out at the top of her voice .. I really do Like To Sing .. la de dah dah dah ... I love it , I love it , I really really do ... )
Anyway, Jus' ( can I call her that ? ) rocks, she really, really does. She makes CD's for kids that adults can listen to without barfing, and even liking. Personally I can't stop singing "Mrs Knife and Mr Fork", but I like them all, I loved her first CD, I love the 2nd.
¯ There’s soapy water in the sink
And Mrs Knife gets Mr Fork
To go slippery dancing
Underneath the kitchen moon ¯
And I hate kiddy music. Really I do.
Anyway, he cheered up during the show - here's one of him when he came back from the mosh for a well-earned chicken sandwich:

No wonder you have joined her fan club.
Don't you love the 'pots and pans' percussion in that song!
My two call it the spoon song and keep singing "put those dishes away, away, away, away, away, away".
Never smile when you're asked, it makes them think you're easy!
Ps - an email will get you access, promise! dmm
Ooo we love Justine here too. I didn't realise that a 2nd CD had been released! Gee, looks as if I'll be off purchasing it in the v. near future.
Justine Clarke won me forever when she did that film with William McInnes where she wasn't afraid to show her wobbly thighs and cellulite. I loved her for that.
I think Santa will pop her new CD in the kid's xmas stockings, the 1st one rocked!
love her on playschool, she is my fav :-)
Maybe if you just said "say cheese" next time?
I love the retro look of Juzzy's photo, with the paintbrush. And we all like her over here too, although we rely on the little hits from ABC kids and have not actually purchased her....
Justine is a welcome relief to this Mum who has had to put up with the Wiggle manic music for tooooo many years. I like the Carribean vibe of the I Love Watermelon song :)
Such an earnest little face he has, I love it, I love it - I really, REALLY DO! I got really sick of Jus though, I do with all of them, if it aint PJ Harvey, I'm just tuned out to it I'm afraid!
Heh, I just can't stop picturing her as Roo from Home and Away though.
I don't know Justine CLark's songs (Will's just gets stuck listening to our music at this time or my tuneless rendition of nursery rhymes).
I'll have to check her out.
I'm off to check out Dooce as well.
Yup, gotta love Justine. Loads of fun and a welcome break from the other kiddie fare.
I do love the "before concert" photo - I would call that look pensive!
kept on seeing this advertised in the sun... so should have got off my patootie and gone. I love her jazzy music and their non-nursery-rhymy tunes.
Brett thinks her voice is annoying and can't stand the watermelon song... so it only makes sense for Zara and I to play it often and very loud.
I'll have to try some Jus. We're a bit anti kiddie music here too and prefer the sweet quirky pop sounds of bands like Architecture in Helsinki or 60's two tone or ska all of which the Smurf loves.
Having said that we do all love a singalong to Peter Coombe:
"Where's your bag Dad your bag? You left your bag Dad in Bagdhad".
Farking hilarious for all concerned.
I love Justine. Back in the old days (about five years ago) we had a video taped from Playschool of when she took her little son to the beach, my one and only kid at the time devotedly watched it every single day!
p.s. Prostesting for AI - ha ha!
PS thanks for the sidebar love x
