Controversy regarding Nicole Kidman's possible decision
to have family members deliver her child
Controversy has arisen with the news that actress Nicole Kidman's father Antony Kidman, will deliver her and Keith Urban's child, due in July. Antony, a trained mental health specialist and his wife, Janelle Kidman, a trained nurse, are rumored to be the people who will deliver the eldest daughter's child. The couple also delivered their younger daughter Antonia Kidman's fourth child, Sybella Ann, last year.

I don't care how hippy you all are, and 'in touch with your body' and whatever.
If you're past the age of having your nappy changed, Dad should NOT be looking at, nor stitching up, nor admiring your brazillian wax.
I'm sorry, but nor should he want to.
It's probably why Antonia's marriage fell apart.

You may have heard it before - I have not - expect me to use it alot....
Oh yucko! I had a girlfriend who had both parents present and Dad was using the camera!!! That freaked me out completely too. I just don't get it! Gross, gross, gross!!

I saw that in The Age and was shocked. If he was an obstetrician I might feel (slightly) less troubled, but he's a fecking mental health doctor.

I'm supportive of home birth and of having family in the room of course but in no way could I ever, ever ever have my Dad deliver my kid. Bleh!
I asked my first OB about this, he had a DD my age. When I asked if he would deliver his own daughter's baby he said, "That's a big NO way No how!"
I consider myself pretty progressive but this gives me the yuckies.

Not for me either. Hubby and the necessary ob and nursing staff were the only ones in the room with me. No-one else is going to dabble down there, especially not mum and dad. Yucky, Yucky, Yucky.
That really is too open and sharing and caring... it's not right, not right at all.
If I even suggested that to my Dad he'd run to the hills screaming!

My then-80 year old father - upon watching me breasfeed the Girl in hospital (I was very discreet) commented cheerily:"Sucking strongly, I see". Beyond revolting.
Nicole isn't giving birth. No way.
