    Party went well

There were 16 of us, and the salads were 'regular' size, not catering size, hence the variety.
We've still got lots of leftovers though, yum yum !

Which is good, as when we finally sat down after a day of prep, neither AB or I really felt like eating much. But the rain came early and went away, so we were still able to eat out, and there were lots of compliments on the food, so thoroughly worth the effort.

AND, it's my last gig for the year - no more tradies, no more cleaning, no more cooking, no more planting, no more running about like a blue-arsed fly. That's it. What a relief !

Someone brought an 8yr old, who was a really fun companion for MC. They played backyard cricket, jumped on the bed, ran around, read books and watched the Spongebob Squarepants Movie. MC was awake from 7.30am to 12.30pm yesterday ( with no nap ), and awoke this morning at 9.45am. Slept like a log, as you could imagine...

Today we're inviting the inlaws over to help hoover some leftovers.
That, and the house is still clean, so might as well see people while the going's good.

Three pics I took before we got down to the wire and people started arriving and the pressure was on:

I'm glad it went well, I did think of you when I woke up to the rain yesterday morning.

    That good looks stunning.

That food, even, looks stunning. And good, obviously.

Is there no end to your talents? That all looks just spectacular. You have inspired me to see if I can find an inexpensive but nice punch bowl as I think that would help make the table special for the kids. Obsessing about punch!!

I am so very glad you can try and grab some down time now.

The caprese, made with bite-sized bits, is the apex of the thing.

It's nearly midnight (in Qld) and I'm sitting here licking my lips over that seafood platter, thanks...nooooow what am I going to eat? Probably Corn Flakes again.

Does anyone else eat a regular midnight snack like me? (and no I'm not pregnant!).

Very nice photographs. Do you style all your food before you eat it, or is it just for special occasions? I want to eat at your place!

(And sticking my hand up for the punch recipe, please!)

    Yum!
I was at a party on Saturday and the food was nowhere near as nice as that.
They didn't even bother to decant from the Safeway coleslaw tub into a decent dish.
Next year I'm coming to yours.

Your food looks so professional. No wonder everyone raved. You'll have to get entertainers in next year if you're that posh, I know a good tap dancing troupe who will work for food....

I have had half a bottle of champers before I got on the PC and I am feeling SOOOOO envious that you are having a bub!!! You would think after 4, who get in the way when I want to entertain!!! That I would be over it....NO...Its such a great time in your life.Any way enough drunk talk!! LOL
