    2 Sleeps to Go ...

The rain has eased, so tonight we're going to take a walk around the neighbourhood at all the tackily-lit and decorated homes we've seen in our daytime travels.

Tacky to me only, of course, the 3yr old is mesmerised and thrilled people go to such trouble. So for that, I thank them.
God knows I wouldn't do it to my own house :)

We've invited around the paternals Christmas morning for Croissants and coffee so they can watch the boy open gifts. Later we'll be off to my mums.

Merry Christmas to all that read and comment - I love keeping this blog and am so inspired by those I read, and from the things you all say and do. I love the community, and I love the way there's kindreds out there that don't think it's at all weird to photograph the garden, your dinner, or the way light captures floating dustmites.
I've always done this, but before now, it was just a secret little thing I did for myself.

I thought i'd leave you with this great little song, a variation of "Winter Wonderland" that featured on the Christmas show of Spicks and Specks.
    Very Australian.

    Merry Christmas !!

    A Very Specky Winter Wonderland

    Cricket’s on, are you listening
On my brow, sweat is glistening
Crackin a beer, we’re glad to be here
    Christmas in a summer wonderland

    Come around, bring your cossies
And some spray for the mozzies
    We’re havin a lark
    in the caravan park
    Living in a summer wonderland

In the afternoon we’ll have a barbie
Even in a total fire ban

Marinate the bangers with a stubbie
And give a glass of sherry to your nan

    Later on, we'll perspire,
    As the temperature gets higher
    (Santa) looks out of sorts
    He should be in shorts
    Christmas in a summer wonderland.

I can relate to the summer wonderland. Only once a year I wish it would snow. Enjoy the lights -- we'll be doing the same. Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas to you too H&B. Thank you for the way you inspire me and I'm sure other readers, you're right - we're not crazy to photograph the things we do, it's what makes us happy.

We did the neighbourhood lights thing, I'll have to try and post some pics, Lordy it was more bogan than you'd ever think. Tacky is an understatement I'd say.

How come so many of these people cannot afford milk, bread and vegetables but they lash out on Christmas lights, decorations for the yard and bloody ciggies? Hmph!!!!

I love my blog too and my little community I have created, which includes you, dear H&B. I love sharing, like you and I do love to come over and visiting and saying G'Day to you in my old home town!! *heehee* I love reading about your son and I don't think it is strange to photograph dust mites. Lordy, you should see the bizarre piccies I have taken in my time.

I hope you and yours have a fabulously H&B Christmas. I know, 2 sleeps to go!! Exciting times with 3 year olds isn't it???

We did the lights in our nearby country town on Friday night. I have to admit, I can't stand the inflatable santas, reindeers etc but the lights are pretty.

I, too, enjoy your photos and commentary. 'Inspiration' is right.

All the best for Christmas and a relaxing new year.
