Started this project on Thursday - inspired by some flickr pics., and enabled by gifted paper offcuts from a friend ( thanks Symone ! )
Besides a few things, i'm pretty happy with it so far, but I definately need to tweak, hence a close-up of bits I like rather than an overall showing the bits that are annoying me.
I'm sort of going with a 'green-y forest-y' look as it means I don't have to buy anything, which suits my inherent cheapness, and we don't like to find out the sex of the baby until the gore-rich moment of birth.
And I like leafy greens.
My mum actually says it reminds her of my Yr12 Major Work ( a pot entwined with handmade clay vines and leaves. I gave it a ridiculously long title my Art Teacher poo-poohed as apparently all artwork titles should be short & snappy. Baaaa )
I also picked up some wall stickers from IKEA last time I was there, so i'm experimenting tacking them up ATM with blu-tack to see what I like.
Had some girlfriends over yesterday and one was gobsmacked I was already 'doing the nursery'.
But i'm actually almost halfway through, and I needed to do this before the cot can no longer withstand my weight ( why use ladders when you can balance precariously on furniture ? )
16weeks today.

How lovely and creative. My new one, I have to say, has been plonked down in a corner of our room. I suspect she'll only get a nursery when she's 2!
You are really letting those creative juices flow! Green is a nice calm colour.
Very nice. I like a gender-neutral theme in a nursery.
Owww...nice. And why not get ready hey? It is an exciting time for you all. And us!
Looking good so far...I love the bamboo!
Purdy.
I really love it - and you have chosen colours that your baby can grow with - clever girl..
very cute happy 16 weeks!
Is that an IKEA Diktad cot? That's the one I've got and the tiny bit of it in the pic looks familiar. Anyway I love what you've done so far and can't wait to see an expanded pic.
Congratulations on this, it looks just perfect. So unique and from what I read...so you!!
16 weeks...doesn't time fly for those of us reading, probably not you though.
Any new foods or cravings to write about?
Looks great!
Looks awesome! I love it! So jealous of your creativity!! I love the color green, it is one of my very favorites.
And I'm thrilled to see that there's someone else in this world who likes to wait and not find out if the baby's a boy or a girl until the baby is born!
green is perfect - I'm impressed that you can wait to find out though - no way I would have been able to!
Green is one of my fave colours. Lovely. Any chance of seeing a pic of your art work with the long title? Come on, you've got to at least tell us what the title was...
Lovely greens. Looks wonderful, thus far.
Keep well!
Great inspiration for a new shop window - brilliant!
Um - you and James Reyne? Anything you would care to share?????
Beautiful, beautiful.
And why not enjoy every single minute of it!
ooh noice...
Loving your refreshing nursery theme albeit intimidated simultaneously by your organization.
did you see how cleverly I dropped the only two names i can drop in one post. Will tell the george story soon - but it is a long one i warn you...
Ooh looks good, doing up the babies room is so much fun, you are right to start it at this time - so once it's perfect you can go in a enjoy its perfection until the baby comes.
What wonderful work! Just don't do what I did and forget how close things start to get to the cot once they can stand etc. I lost two very nice frames and prints that way. You'd think I would have learnt my lesson the first time ;-)
See, this is when I say "oh, one of those mums".
I am deeply impressed and envious.
Pretty!
