    I Kid You Not ( *UPDATED* )

    My vaccuum cleaner just died.
    I'm in shock.

And before you ask, no, we did not buy everything at the same time. The vaccy is about 10yrs old, but it is ( was ? ) a top o' the line model.

Can I just mention it takes like a 1000x goes to try and get the toaster working in the morning too ? The bread won't stay down to be toasted.

The toaster is about 2yrs old.

I've just poured myself a mildly-cool, rapidly warming wine from the fridge.
At least i've still got my sense of yumor.

And we've been making little Easter packs for the Mother's Group kids.
Which is fun. They were supposed to come here for an egg-hunt on Wednesday .. but i've cancelled due to ongoing electrical work, an non-functioning fridge, and now a dirty home.

    I'm still in shock.
    Must. drink. more. wine.

    ******************************************************

*UPDATE* .. I am a fool. I let the vac cool down overnight, and this morning discovered a huge blockage of electrical bits and pieces, string and other matter. Now it works fine. *Blush*

But you can't blame me for thinking the worst.
Because it just seemed so logical, that something else would die, like that ...

Hmm, there is something concerning going on at your house. Speaking from experience you might find having a broken vacuume cleaner for awhile to be a very liberating experience.. But if you happen to get a new toaster you might also be amazed at how quick a piece of bread can be toasted. Fun times ahead however you look at it...

you are having some seriously bad luck in the appliance department. Good to see you've still got your sense of yumor... I would have lost the plot by now.

You're all out of luck, aren't you? It is awalys the way, when one thing dies, they all die. That's murphy's law...or something like that.

Just don't replace it with one of those stand up jobbies - what a nightmare... I dream of a bagless pull-along... Hmmmm....

    Bloody hell. I. am. sad.

What on earth has the rewiring done to your household appliances?!

Geez... you've really offended the whitegoods gods, haven't you?

I think you should take your Ben Folds CD and crank it loud, and drink plenty of wine while you're at it!

Some little Hitler God must by mighty peeved with you.

Have you checked the fridge for a huge blockage of electrical bits and pieces, string and other matter?

    Just a thought.....

    Heh.

No Tracey - the fridge's 'compressor' is gone .. that's like the motor ;)

As for the vacc - I *did* check the metal tubing .. but i've never had a blockage in the flexi-tubey stuff before.

    How embarrassment.

Oh how I wish our toaster would die, it's almost 20 years old, ugly as sin and I hate it. When it dies I can get something sleek & stylish but not until ... but not the fridge, the fridge MUST LIVE!

Whew! Thank God you can still vaccum .. you must be sooooo excited ;)
I agree with Victoriae .. get a new toater. Life is to short to wait for stale bread to brown.

I would have been with you on assuming the vacuum had kicked it too. Then I probably would have kicked the vacuum itself. But it is typical that the one appliance that requires you to do most of the work comes back to life while the freezer stays dead.

Did you just fake the blocked tube so you could schull more wine???

LOL, glad the vacumn was okay and I would have thought the same thing. We have awful problems with electrical appliances at Willow House, they are always packing up. I've had the motor burn out annually on the washing machine since we bought it (and it wasn't cheap) thank goodness I got extended warranty on that one.
    Have a great Easter.

My vaccuum cleaner, which is also top of the range, has been a dud since the day it was given to me. it has a powerhead. These days, the powerhead only works if you tilt the handle thing at a 80 degree angle. I wish I was joking.

On the bright side, the wine sounds good, warmish or not!

Wine or housework, wine would win every time (and I really prefer beer, so that's saying a lot.)

Glad the vacuum cleaner is better, though.
