    Qld, Pestilence and the Deal...

Well, that was a nice break :)
Too bad about the coming home to weevils in the pantry ...

    No weevils in these pics:

Oh, and apparently my "Deal" episode is coming up.
    More details to come ....

Please make sure you DO update about your Deal appearance!

Lovely beach pics, it looks idyllic.

Weevils are b-a-d. I stopped buying cheap blackngold/noname flours because of the little blighters. Whitewings all the way now, and plastic storage containers!

Stomper - they were IN all my plastic containers. I don't get it, but it's very distressing and perplexing how it happened.

Grossly, we were also dealing with cockroaches the week before we left. All leaving me feeling very dirty, unclean, and very very grossed out :(

Hopefully, that's the end of it.

Come and live in FNQ and you'll know all about cockroaches!! Urgh. So horribly big and make me feel all grotty. Bloody little things. No weevils yet. I hope they aren't to come. *shiver*

Love the beachy photos - looking forward to hearing all about your trip.

Yu've been missed. Glad you're home, safe, sound and all in one piece. Except for the weevils of course.

Commiserations on the weevils. We can't seem to get rid of these awful little black moths. I clean and clean out regularly but they still seem to find hiding places! Grrr!

Beautiful pics. Glad to see you back!

Welcome home, even if it was a welcome by weevils. What sort of plastic containers do you have? Please don't say Tupperware! I thought they kept every damn thing out.

Looks like you have been up my way...beautiful beaches, nice flat water. Hope you have returned home rested. Then you'll have the energy to squash the little buggers hiding in your pantry!

I couldn't have cocopops as a child because you couldn't tell the difference between the cereal and a weevil, or at least that's what my mum said. As she let me eat far worse cereal (ie Lucky Charms) she may actually have been telling the truth. As for cockroaches.....

But welcome back and those photos look divine. I hope you manage to chuck your unwanted kitchen lodgers out soon.

    Nice pics from your break!

As to the dratted weevils.. we have decided they come already IN the flour, because we have everthing is plastic airtight containers & STILL they turn up.
Got some of those little sticky things to get the moths, & just have to keep cleaning endlessly.
Never saw them until recently, & we blame the Supermarkets.

Oh & the Deal! Please let us know when to watch!

it is true that the weevil eggs do already come in the wrapper. YOu can prevent future outbreaks by allowing your flours some time in the fridge. The cool kills off the eggs. And that's my community service announcement right there.

What lovely photos. Your little one looks like he's having a great time with his dad. HOlidays are simply the best for bringing families together, although sometimes I think they can also uncover some tension!

    Weevils? I hate em.

Don't forget to tell all about the Deal...But first, you have to explan the rules. I admit I don't get it, although I've only watched about .35 per cent of a show.

You went to Noosa and didn't tell me! LOL, I was probably there at exactly the same time. How freaky. I hope you enjoyed it, and it sounds like you did.

    Dammit! I HATE weevils!

So hard to get rid of.

You have to throw absolutely everthing out.

    (weevils. Hate em).

kiki - no, not Tupperware - cheap Gladware and stuff from $2 shops etc ;)

muser - thanks for the tip !! I had to chuck out EVERYTHING. New stuff all did a fridge stint. Hopefully no more weevils.

Shula - it was gross. They were in EVERYTHING.

They (& the pantry moths) come in the packets. I found the fridge isn't enough and all pasta, flour, rice, etc goes in the FREEZER overnight before being stored in glass jars. (I guess then we are only eating the eggs, ick!).
