    Aftermath

Have you seen that Holly Hunter movie "Home for the Holidays" ?
It was Jodie Foster's first directing effort, and a box-office flop, but I really liked it.

I also liked "The Family Stone", another holiday tale of angst and discomfort.

    Anyway.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------

I love this pic I took yesterday.

I actually have quite a few of my son in heels.
He first slipped on a pair when he was 18mo old thereabout, so he's quite the expert these days.

I just love how he's married up the shoes with a macho Tonka truck. Break down those boundaries, baby !

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------

AB and I are also discussing post-Xmas projects.

After the most-important re-wiring ( I tried to boil the jug for a coffee this morning while also running the dishwasher and overloaded the system ), we've decided to get stuck into the front yard. There's a lot of work to be done though ( if you're going to go to the trouble of re-leveling, re-turfing, landscaping, planting, hiring another rubbish skip, hiring a bobcat etc ... then you may as well fix the dodgy front fence/boundaryline and the driveway ).

Of course, AB doesn't think all of this will cost much at all.
It bemuses me to no end, as we have already renovated one house, and still have all the paperwork. Plus we got Archicentre out here, who not only assess your house for solidity/problems etc, but also estimate out how much improving/building/renovating your house will cost .. room by room. So I have no idea how quotes always shock him so. Funny.

Anyway, I don't mind, as I love getting caught up in all the bustle of planning, dreaming, pricing, quoting. If things don't actually come to fruition, that doesn't bother me at all. But getting to spend weekends poring over benchtop substrates and paver styles ?

    My fave pastime.
    ( no, I don't get out much ! ;)

Looking forward to seeing your reno ideas come to fruition- or not, as the case may be.

Love the red shoes with the red stripes.
My brother used to love to dress in my frocks when we were kids.
He is happily married with 3 burly sons- & never an urge to wear a dress!1

lol - and as everyone has noted, the matching of the shoes to the top, priceless! However, I'm sure the open toe shoes will pose an OH&S issue on site one day.

Sounds like '07 has some rewarding home reno time instore for you... Keep on blogging the results, they're très cool.

Love the photo! So tres chic and so very Melbourne. Open toe sandals with jumper - ready for any weather. We have started, or rather, re-started, those same conversations over here. Apparantly after 6 years we are serious now. So this may be the year of living out of three rooms ... I'm sure we will talk some more!

Your son is better at walking in heels than I am! Jumpers and open toe sandals is quite the fashion over here even in winter, when the toes take on a rather blue, chapped unappealling look.

I hope you are saving that photo for his 21st birthday! It is absolutely adorable and yes, he does look so comfortable in the beautifully co-ordinated sandals as he drives the macho machinery.

You are very impressive with your love of renovating and chasing quotes. Have you ever thought of hiring yourself out in that capacity? I'm sure there's heaps of bewildered home owners out there who would love to hand over the reins to someone like you.

I'm impressed by just how shiny your floors are! Great photo. Your Little one matched the shoes with his jumper.

Sounds as if you have a busy year ahead. Good luck.

Good luck with the garden. You'll have to invite me over for a look (just to give you a little break from all the work, of course!) Who knows when we'll be doing our garden now, at least not till summer is over, so I'll just have to live vicariously.
Darling boy and his red shoes!

Cuteness. Boys are so cute before they discover the "rules and regulations" of being a boy! well, they're still cute after that too.
I loved The Family Stone, despite the idiotic swapping of partners, still unreality is the beauty of films I suppose. The Holly Hunter one is going on my To See list.

I LOVE Home for the Holidays - one of my favourite Christmas movies ever. Mind you, I dig Robert Downey Jnr in anything (have you seen Kiss Kiss Bang Bang).

Gotta love a man who's bold enough to play with his truck while wearing his favourite pair of heels!

BTW, I'm with you on the whole home reno thing, I've done nearly 4now and I love it!
