    Advertising Works

( or: we watch far too much tee-tee* )

The Scene: Dinner. Complete. Our house.
Son #1: I would like some Bulla Classic** please.
    With the pop-up lid ?

Well, he got Streets Blue Ribbon**, but after a quick google, I see Bulla is Australian owned & made, despite the lack of a website ( in this day & age - WTF ? ), so I think i will give it a go.

I know a lot of people hate commercial advertising, but I am a big fan from way back, so, you know, this kind of mindless brainwashing makes me proud ( he recited a jingle ? way to go ! )

And in other news ... ?
My crawling, climbing, abseiling, now walking son #2

    155bdaywm

    turns ONE tomorrow !

This probably accounts for a lack of posting.....
by Jesus, this guy is Danger-Mouse .. I am typing standing up, kinda hunched over .. all chairs are now banned in this house due to an abundance of danger climbing-spots and non-safety glass windows ( and i've already had my #1 son smash through 2 such windows before HIS first birthday - I do not want history to repeat itself, thankyaverymuch !! )

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------

and thankyou for your many, kind comments on the bushfire situation .. I am still getting around to contacting many of you in kind .. but thankyou ...

No way - no way can that tiny bundle of sleepy goodness be a one year old bundle of yummy naughtiness!

    I am shocked.

Wishing that boy a very happy birthday and a big cuddle from me...

Well, you know I'll back you up on the advertising front lady ;-)

Lovely #2 son....you should revisit some of your last posts prior to his birth. That's always nice to do isn't it?

    1 already! Wow.

As for the crashing through windows, that's kind of scary. Though I survived the same thing myself as a child, so chances are he'll be fine. If growing up way too fast.

    Happy birthday!!!
(I just bought son number 1 his first suit for his year 12 high school formal..... Once he was as cute as a button, just like your boy....)
On bushfire related news; the book drive I'm doing for young Jarryd, who was totally burnt out in the fires, was going great guns until a computer stuff up wiped over half the book list off and meant that no one could comment. I was out at a parent-teacher night and didn't realise for hours....

I'm so sick to think that a stupid technology glitch could stop people being involved. I hate technology with a passion. (My son helped me fix it. They may get less dimples as they get older, but they get more useful! Something for you to look forward to!)

I'll stop writing an essay on your blog and go to bed now......

Wow, walking before he's one would keep you busy for sure; they've just got no brains at that age! I mean he has brains obviously he is adorable but you know what I mean.

Anyway, happy birthday to your beautiful little boy and good luck with the abseiling.

    Happy Birthday Danger Mouse!

I am sure that my kids watch too much TV given that child #1 would like a 'ped-egg' & a 'go duster'...

I told him that he would have to wait for his bday & he was quite happy with that answer, hmmm....

Followed a link from http://www.dramateacherlady.blogspot.com/ over to here.
I like the term "danger mouse"...very cute. Over in our house, the resident wall-climbers are affectionately termed "Crazy Monkeys" :)
I hope a happy birthday is had by all!

Oh dear ... the ad i know is cute too.

That boy is gorgeous and the photo - we had to ban chairs here too and we even tired to velcro strap the legs to the table ...to no avail. Fail ! I then had to lock them in another room with two climbers.

Happy birthday to your little fellow.Happy birthing day to you.

LOL I meant I locked the chairs in the other room , though it was tempting to lock the climbers in.

    Seriously, he's ONE already???

It's bad enough to blink and see your own children grow up before you know it!

That photo is absolutely gorgeous, by the way.

And as for the danger mouse component, my A used to launch himself off the telephone table onto the couch and do a somersault. He's in gymnastics now - it appears to have cured him!!

One! Crickey!! It's shocking that my Little Miss S will be TWO this year. Not possible.

Bulla is the favoured icecream in this household... everyone declares it to be creamier and more full of flavour.

Just read your bushfire post and I think you summed it up very well. Fires are unpredictable and how can ANYONE criticise the people who lost homes and loved ones? Until you have been in that situation you have no idea of what it's like. I can scarely comprehend how scary and difficult it must have been.

What is it with these modern little boys? OUr grandson was like a positive monkey from about 7 months of age, & was walking at 9 months. He could climb over the high wire mesh fence, & access the street- a busy one. He almost needed to be chained up.
Happy firt Birthday, super little man.
    Don't blink again!
