    38

    Yesterday.

Or as my eldest said "you is old".
    Thanks sweetie-pie.

I started to compile a '38 things' list, but got up to about point 5 and even bored myself.

How much naval-gazing can one stand ? Even when one's favourite topic is oneself, and a personal blog in itself is vanity personified ?

And besides, you'd all be repelled to read 38 deep dark secrets about me. It's best I remain aloof. People that really know me ... well, most try to run far far away. All that vanity, all that me-ness ... it's disgusting. No wonder my friends all drink....

Hey, but i'm honest .. always honest ;)
So instead, a couple of gifts for the readers:

The best cake I have ever made:
( click on link for recipe - it is YUMMY ! )

I always make pale pink and girly cakes for me.

The best birthday I ever had was my 13th and I asked for a pale pink heart-shaped cake from the Woman's Weekly Birthday Cake book. I was allowed to invite two girlfriends over and choose the meal ( a hot oil fondue - yummm ! - and still so exotic for my small-town girlfriends - we were sooo cosmopolitan ! ).
I also wore a brand new jumper ( sweater ) that was pale pink with satin hearts patched onto it.

It came from a proper clothing *boutique* and NOT from Fosseys. It was a great birthday :)

How to get your icon ( called a favicon, i've learned ! ) in your http:// header and elsewhere:
    http://www.i-tong.com/2008/04/20/add-a-favicon-to-your-blogspot-blog/

    A few other things:

Seeing a Speech Therapist ( thank God we got private health insurance - not cheap, but fabulous so far. I have a Speechie reader and i'll have to ask if she knows him - he's apparently got a really good rep. )

    First football game:

My new pram finally arrived and we've been getting in some serious walking. So much in fact, i've lost 3kilos in like, a week ! And before that - nothing since the initial child-expulsion ( the quickest, yet most painful way I know to lose 10kgs stat. )

    What else ?
I can't remember, i'm sure there was more.
    Isn't there always ?

how come you have to make your own cake-boo!

yay for the new pram, with petrol prices on the rise I am thinking that I will have to upgrade our pram & walk instead of driving Ryder to & from school... I will save $$$ & look fab! what a plan, bet it never happens...

    Happy birthday!

An a big EXCUUUSE ME! to Bluemountainsmary. Who you calling old? I'm 45 this year! Just because I have a stooped back, grey hairs that won't be covered and wrinkles that makes me look like a neglected basket of ironing doesn't make me old.

Well, ok, maybe it does, but it's not for you to say!

    Happy Happy Birthday.

The cake looks lovely & I love the story of your 13th birthday.

I made my own cake for my 13th - it was chocolate with a pink rose stuck in the middle of it - classy!

Next time(!) you have to have a girl because eventually she will bake you a birthday cake. Traditional role-modelling but true!
    The cake looks delish!

I catered my 12th birthday from the WW's birthday cook book. Can only remember sausage rolls shaped like gingerbread men...!

    Man, you is old.
You were way cooler at 13 than I have ever been, or ever will be.
I still shop at Fosseys (or its newer, hipper incarnation, Target Country - like Centre Road is country).
