    Done

    My husband made this.
He's lost weight and gained new muscles where none previously existed.

He's never worked with bricks before, never built a wall. Nothing. He's kind of stoked with his effort and the end result ( the pics on the right ).

We're not real sold on the white pebbles as yet, but think once some hyper-green planting goes in ( not for a while ) it will look great. We actually preferred the 'slatey' colour of the crushed rock base, but it was probably a bit too fine and easy for a cat to use as a giant litter tray .. so um .. no.

Wish I had some 'before' pics of the side of the house to share - they're somewhere. It used to be a weed jungle down there.
I'll have to take a look and see if I can find them..

It's RAINING today !!!! I've got all the windows and doors open to air the stifling heat out - it smells and feels fantastic, and the lawn and garden are getting a good wetting - lovely. However, supposed to be dry and 33degrees or something again tomorrow. That seems to be the way we get rain these days - just a day of it, then 15 more of crackling heat...

Told a porkie on Friday and called up the Gas company again to say a stranger had come up and knocked on my door to ask if I was aware of the leakage ?
Guess who's here today and working in the rain ? Noice.

Still more to come though - the driveway guys were here this morning and have laid down mapping/boundaries for the new driveway and path to the front door. They'll be back tomorrow to pour the concrete. Exciting !

Well done on the new path - I have to say I like the white pebbles even without green planting.

Up here in the mountains it is like living in the tropics - thunderstorms every day and regular blackouts - already had one today and will probably have another one soon!

Great job, looks fantastic. I'm sure the white pebbles won't stay too white for long. Nice work with the gas co too! Like your xmas tree photo too, how do you get your floors so shiny??? The rain is nice, except we're having to mow our lawns every week!

I'm so envious! The sideway and driveway things are just what I want to have done. (Trouble is, I'd also like to pay off my mortgage sometime in the next 50 years too, so I'm focussing on that at the moment.)
Well done! I'd (almost) kill to have no more weeds down the sideway. Now there's a thought.... maybe this weekend I could simply go and kill the weeds....

Very nice! And such good brickwork too.

I thought of you and your new tanks when the rain went into over-drive yesterday. Surely they are full now?

I think it looks great! And so does your tree!

Good luck working your way through your lists...

I love the smell of the air just before it starts to rain. I sit out on the verandah with the dogs just to enjoy it.

It all looks lovely, what a clever bloke you have.
I walked home in yesterday's thunder storm, got home just before the rain hit. It was all very dramatic, darkend skys, rolling thunder, great forks of lightening - lovely.

That looks great. After watching the workmen here, I can now understand what a HUGE effort for a non-professional that is. He should go into business :-)

    Path looks good!
As for telling porkies to the gas company - it doesn't count as a real porkie - they positively expect (and IMO deserve) it.

Great use of space. Impressive first brick experience. Rain can be beautiful. We rarely see it either as we're technically in the desert. Have learned to revel in it.
